The cultivation of medicinal herbs

Many herbs can be grown at home in a box or a pot on the windowsill, the balcony or loggia. For many centuries people ate different herbs as seasoning and in various diseases. Modern research confirms the role of herbs for the promotion and maintenance of health.

Many herbs are very easy to grow at home. It’s cheaper than buying them at the pharmacy and will always have fresh herbs on hand.

Most herbs are rich in antioxidants, anti-inflammatory, antiseptic and carminative properties. Another plus – green plants always decorate the house, it heals a great hobby, which is a very beneficial effect on health. After caring for houseplants is always reassuring.

Top 10 medicinal herbs that can be grown at home

Basil. Basil is widely used in the preparation of many dishes. And Basil has healing properties. Basil has antioxidant, antiseptic, anti-inflammatory and antibacterial properties. In the composition of Basil contain vitamins A, C, K, micro and macro elements manganese, copper, calcium, iron, magnesium and omega-3 fatty acids.

Mint. Mint should be planted in large flower pots. Mint can grow both shaded and Sunny places. Mint likes moist soil and fertilizing with organic fertilizers.

Mint has antioxidant, expectorant, diaphoretic, antiseptic and anti-inflammatory properties. Peppermint is used for stomach disorder, abdominal pain, muscle aches, heartburn, chest pains, headaches, unpleasant smell from the mouth.

Mint is rich in vitamins A, C, manganese, iron.

Melissa. Melissa is mainly used in brewing herbal tea. Delicate lemon scent is pleasantly refreshing and soothing.

When growing lemon balm home, you need to remember that it requires at least 6 hours of sunlight. Lemon balm grows well in rich ganusov, wet soils.

Melissa is a natural antioxidant, possesses antiviral, anti-inflammatory, antimicrobial, astringent, antispasmodic and antihistamine properties.

In leaves of lemon balm contains rosmarinic, protocatechuic acids, phenolic compounds and flavonoids.

Apply lemon balm in the treatment of stomach aches, headaches, fever, colds, migraine, dental pain, herpes, cough, hyperactivity and many other diseases.

Rosemary is not only popular spicy herb, and is used in many diseases.

Rosemary has antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties. Contains phytonutrients, fatty acids, possesses anti-allergenic, astringent, diaphoretic and stimulant properties.

Often rosemary is used for headaches, colds, depression, gout, rheumatism, neurological pain and other diseases.

Sage. The use of saffron in cooking we have made little. But as a medicinal plant used very widely.

Sage is a natural antibiotic that has astringent, tonic, and carminative properties. Contains essential oils, flavonoids, vitamin a and K.

Sage is used in diseases of the throat, gums, depression, herpes, athlete’s foot, menstrual cramps.
